Some of you may know her as my mentor (and colleague) who has deeply influenced my work. Many of you have experienced her work via my online program SmartBody SmartMind™.
But even if you haven’t heard of her, if you stick around and keep learning with me and my team you will often hear me express deep appreciation for Kathy, and acknowledge her as one of the KEY leaders in the field of healing and treating the nervous system dysregulation that occurs as a result of early trauma.
This past June Kathy and I chatted about her life in the world of teaching practitioners how to work with early trauma from a somatic perspective.
Her origin story, her lifelong quest to discover what it takes to heal early and developmental trauma, plus her worldview on our healing and medical system, are vast. We cover a lot in this interview and I want to make sure you get a chance to watch it in its entirety.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”yes” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding_top=”20px” padding_right=”20px” padding_bottom=”20px” padding_left=”20px” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=”” min_height=”” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all”][fusion_youtube id=”https://youtu.be/4RLFmlo2vb0″ alignment=”center” width=”600″ height=”350″ autoplay=”no” api_params=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” css_id=”” /][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none” last=”no” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all”][fusion_text]Not sure if you want to take the time to watch a movie-length interview? 🙂
Just as I was writing this email to you I got this little love note in my email inbox from Sydney Badger, a previous client and now a good friend and key member of my team:
“Just finished watching your interview with Kathy Kain. So freaking awesome. Her book description is framed as being for practitioners and therapists, but I’m keen to nerd out. Is there anything you’d suggest as a ‘pre-requisite’ reading/learning, or, just dive right in? “
My advice, just dive in!
When we are presented with an opportunity to learn and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and how our body ticks from the inside out, plus what it takes to help it get better, best to say YES!
While Kathy’s work is primarily geared towards practitioners in the somatic and bodywork healing arts, I believe this interview and her latest book titled Nurturing Resilience – Helping Clients Move Forward from Developmental Trauma–An Integrative Somatic Approach can be for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of what it means to heal early and developmental trauma in our western world. Without further ado, dive in and get your learning on. [/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
